FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to enroll my card?

No enrollment is needed. Your current debit card will automatically be added to Debit Card Controls. New debit cards will be available in Debit Card Controls as soon as they’re issued.

Who can use Debit Card Controls?

Debit Card Controls are currently available for Retail Banking customers. We’re working on integrating this feature into our Business Banking platform soon.

Where can I access Debit Card Controls?

You can manage your card settings directly via the “My Cards” menu option in your Q Mobile Banking app or Online Banking.

What happens when I turn my card off¹?

Turning your card status to "OFF" suspends all new activity on your debit card. Recurring transactions will still be authorized when the card status is "OFF".

If I adjust a control, will it affect any other cards tied to the same account?

No, it will only apply to your card.

Will the limit I set in my controls override the Bank's daily limits for my card?

No. Your debit card has standard daily limits set by the Bank for your protection. If you set a control limit higher than the Bank's limit, it won't apply. However, if you set a lower limit, your control will take effect.

What is the difference between my Online Banking alerts and Debit Card Controls?

Online Banking alerts are text or email alerts set up within the Online Banking platform for various transaction or service alerts related to your account. Debit Card Control alerts are specific to your debit card transactions. It is possible if alerts are set up in both places that you may receive duplicate notifications.

How do I set up push notifications?

¹ Turning off your card is not a replacement for reporting your card lost or stolen. Contact us immediately if you believe that unauthorized transactions have been made. Turning your card off will not stop card transactions presented as recurring transactions or the posting of refunds, reversals, or credit adjustments to your account. Any digital card numbers linked to the card will also be turned off. For debit cards, turning off your card will not stop transactions using other cards linked to your deposit account. Availability may be affected by your mobile carrier’s coverage area. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply.
