What Inspired you to start your own Business?
What inspired me was the further use and research of water that I thought was beneficial but was not. I began to focus on providing people with a healthier alternative against other unhealthy beverages.
What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everybody else?
With over 25 years of professional military service & combat experience, I learned to serve so the people of the United States can have the freedom and opportunity to start and own their own businesses. After 25 years of making it possible for other Americans to follow their American Dream through my service, I saw it as a blessing to still serve people, but this time with my family own product and leave a legacy and inheritance to my children and their children.
What is your background and how did you develop the skills to start your business?
M.Ed, Post-Secondary Education from Troy University and I developed these skills from my 30 years of experience in leadership and management in the military and civilian life.
What has been your biggest success to date?
It is an honor to be requested from N.Y. CBS Sports the Co-Sponsors of the Master’s Golf Tournaments at Augusta National for the last 2 years. We provided our company brand Alkaline Water for select golfers and CBS Sports personal in 2019 and again in 2020 in the middle of a pandemic.
What has been your biggest Challenge?
Our biggest challenge has been educating our customers and the public that all drinking water are not created equal. The difference/ gap between bottle water and our Alkaline water is a tremendous health difference with Alkaline water being more superior.
Which small business are you inspired by?
I am inspired by our business neighbor Jynelle Handy at Insurance Pros. We constantly check up on each other and I even have multiple vehicles insured with them. She inspires me to work harder and promote growth for the both of us. Each operating Black owned businesses in America, it is very important to always look out and support each other.
If you could go back to the beginning knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?
I would have established Queensborough as my personal and Business Banker.
What’s the best advice or someone who wants to start their own Business?
I would first tell them to make sure that they are motivation. A business plan is useless without the drive and motivation to complete it.
