Generations Serving Generations: Astrid Capers & Serena Myles

Queensborough National Bank and Trust has served families and businesses in Georgia for more than 6 generations. At this time, many of our customers have recommended us to their children and grandchildren. This puts us in the unique position of helping multiple generations buy homes and vehicles, start and expand businesses, and build a legacy for future generations.

You may not know that Queensborough also employs multiple generations of the same family. That’s why we wanted to highlight some of these stories in our ‘Generations Serving Generations’ series. Perhaps you’ve been recommended to us by a parent or grandparent. If so, we’d love to hear your story. Meanwhile, meet a mother and daughter who both serve our customers in unique ways.

Astrid Capers is a QNBTNOW ITM Teller Manager who started at the bank in 2020. She loves serving customers and helping them keep their finances in order. She has recommended the bank to family and friends so enthusiastically that her daughter now works here too!

“The best thing is that I’m able to see my daughter on a daily basis. I love working with Serena because she has a great mind. We benefit from each other in the way we think, it helps us make great decisions at work,” Astrid said.

Serena Myles is an EFT Operations Specialist who came to work for the bank after hearing good things from her mom. Serena agrees that there are many advantages of working side by side with a parent.

“I did not aspire to work with my mom at the bank. However, she was very impressed and enthusiastic about the bank, constantly telling me how great it is working for Queensborough. That is the main reason why I decided to work at this bank — and working alongside my mother is a great added bonus,” according to Serena.

Both dynamic ladies enjoy introducing friends to the advantages offered by banking locally where tellers remember your name. When asked if she would recommend working with a parent to others, here is what Serena had to say.

“Do it! It is a great experience and will strengthen the relationship with your parents! I always have someone to talk to and someone to confide in, and this made a huge difference especially when I first started. Those times can be challenging and intimidating but having my mother work in the same company made it a lot easier.”
