Queensborough recently awarded $500 to Dalton Murphy, a 2023 graduate of Briarwood Academy in Warrenton, Georgia for his essay on the importance of community banking. Dalton is the son of Kevin and Diane Murphy and plans to attend Georgia Southern University in the fall.

The Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship is a statewide contest funded and presented by the Community Bankers Association of Georgia. As a sponsoring bank, Queensborough encourages local high school seniors to apply for the statewide competition, but also awards one local student annually with a $500 scholarship.
