Feeding Families with Golden Harvest

Feeding Families with Golden Harvest

Queensborough National Bank & Trust employees continued to make a big impact in their local communities this year by partnering with Golden Harvest Food Bank to feed families in need.  Our partnership with Golden Harvest has continued for over 11 years and has helped feed thousands of families through Mobile Markets in our communities.

Golden Harvest Mobile Markets provide food like fresh produce and meat as well as critical grocery products like diapers and toilet paper. This year, Queensborough sponsored Mobile Markets in McDuffie, Jefferson, Emanuel, Washington, Richmond, Columbia and Burke counties.

“For families living in rural or at-risk areas, access to nutritious food is even more difficult. Much of our service area covers rural or urban food deserts, where grocery stores are few and far between – or non-existent. Families living in these areas must spend extra money on transportation to reach a grocery store, or shop for groceries at local convenience stores with higher prices and few nutritious food options” says Golden Harvest Food Bank.

This year, our employees hosted six Mobile Markets in five different counties.  Over 65,798 pounds of food was distributed to over 1,296 families.

“As a community bank that dates back to 1902, the overall well-being, financial health, and occupational vibrancy of the people in our communities has always been, and continues to be, a driving passion for us.  As such, the fight against hunger is one we take most seriously. That’s why we are also so proud and honored to partner with a Golden Harvest in their ambitious efforts to end food insecurity within our surrounding communities” said Dagan Sharpe, Queensborough Senior Vice President, Regional Banking Manager.

Founded in 1902, Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co. is Georgia’s community bank with more than 25 locations throughout Georgia. Queensborough was named Best Small Bank in Georgia for 2021 by Newsweek. For more information, visit and find Queensborough on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram.
