Real People Making Real Decisions
At Queensborough National Bank & Trust, local decision-making is more than a talking point. It is one of the clearest ways the bank shows up for its customers and communities. Behind those decisions are real people who live in the same communities, understand the local economy, know the challenges business owners face, and take the time to see the full story behind every relationship.
For John Jackson, Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer, community banking has always been personal.
A Career Built at Queensborough
John’s career at Queensborough began in 1997 and has grown alongside the bank and the communities it serves. Over the years, he has held several important roles, including Loan Officer in Millen, Branch Manager in Millen, and corporate leadership in Louisville beginning in 2010.
Today, as Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer, John helps guide credit decisions with the steady perspective that comes from nearly three decades of experience. His work supports responsible lending, strong customer relationships, and the long-term health of the bank.
Credit leadership requires more than reviewing numbers. It takes judgment, consistency, and an understanding of the customer’s full story. John brings that balance to his role every day, helping ensure decisions are made with care, discipline, and a local perspective. His experience across lending, branch management, and executive credit oversight gives him a well-rounded view of both customer needs and bank responsibility.
For John, that balance between relationships and responsibility is what makes community banking meaningful. It is not just about making loans. It is about making informed decisions that support families, businesses, and communities while protecting the strength of the bank for the future.
John’s commitment to community extends well beyond his work at Queensborough. He served as President of the Millen Chamber of Commerce from 2001 to 2003 and served with the Development Authority of Jenkins County during that same period. He was also a longtime member of the Millen Rotary Club, serving as president from 2003 to 2004.
His service has continued through leadership roles in education, economic development, and faith-based stewardship. John served on the Board of Directors for Edmund Burke Academy from 2016 to 2022, serving terms as treasurer, vice chair, and chairman. He has also served with the Development Authority of Burke County since 2021 and as finance chair for WFMC beginning in 2024.
Those roles reflect a lifelong commitment to the places John calls home. As a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, Georgia, John comes from a small, rural community that continues to thrive while holding firmly to the values that define small-town life: trust, relationships, service, and looking out for one another. That perspective has shaped the way he leads, makes decisions, and invests time and energy back into the community.
Family and Life Outside the Bank
John is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Jackson and is married to Michelle H. Jackson. Together, they have two daughters, Abbigail Meeks and Lauren Grey Jackson. Family is central to John’s life, and his roots in Waynesboro have shaped both his personal values and his professional approach.
Outside of work and community service, John enjoys spending time with family, hunting, and playing golf. Those interests reflect the same qualities that have defined his career: patience, focus, relationships, and an appreciation for time spent close to home.
John Jackson’s story is a reminder that community banking is built through relationships, experience, and a genuine commitment to serving local people well. Real people making real decisions. That is what community banking looks like, and John has helped carry that promise forward at Queensborough for nearly three decades.
