An Unusual Path to Banking
Before joining Queensborough in 2011, Tillman followed an unconventional path. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Newberry College and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Toxicology from Texas Tech University, building a background rooted in research, observation, and analysis.
Those skills translate naturally to credit work. Strong decisions require the right questions, careful review of facts, and an understanding of long-term impact. Tillman brings that disciplined, analytical mindset to lending while recognizing that banking cannot be reduced to a formula.

Tillman’s commitment to community extends beyond the bank. He is involved with Philippi Baptist Church and serves on boards focused on service, leadership, education, business development, and youth development, including the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Western South Carolina Economic Development Board, W. Wyman King Academy, and Charles E. Holmes FCA Endowment Board.
Outside of work, he enjoys bird hunting, water skiing, whitewater canoeing, golf, bird watching, camping, and backpacking. Coincidentally, these interests all reflect the observation, preparation, stewardship, and patience he also brings to his professional life.
