PPP Loan Update - Rural Hospitals 4/13/2020

Queensborough closes $7.1 million in PPP loans, plans to donate a portion of fees to local food banks

Queensborough National Bank & Trust has quickly helped several small communities by closing $7.1 million in Payment Protection Program loans and began funding those authorizations on April 10. There are still over $100 million in loans to be closed through the bank.

The $7.1 million in loans went to businesses in Waynesboro, Wrens, Louisville, Metter, Wadley and Sandersville. Of that, $4.9 million went to three east Georgia hospitals, including Jefferson Hospital in Louisville and the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville. Queensborough will donate its fees from hospital loans to local food banks in those areas.

“We are proud to be in a position to help local businesses secure financing to pay their employees while supporting our local food banks,” said Bill Easterlin, the president of Queensborough National Bank and Trust. “We will be donating all of our fees for the hospital loans to the food banks.”
