Planting a Flag in the Midlands with an Experienced Business Banking Team

Queensborough National Bank & Trust is planting a flag in the Columbia and Lexington markets with the addition of three experienced banking professionals: Scott Hagler, Kenneth “Ken” Washburn, and Lauren Steadman, who join Jordan Goetzman, Region Leader. Together, the team brings deep market knowledge, long-standing community relationships, and the business banking expertise to help companies across the Midlands access competitive lending, high-touch service, cash management, merchant services, and other financial solutions.

Hagler, Washburn, and Steadman will serve under the leadership of Jordan Goetzman, who has been with Queensborough since 2022 and plays an important role in guiding the bank’s growth in the Columbia market. Their arrival signals a stronger commitment to business owners, professionals, and families who value local decision-making, experienced bankers, and a relationship-first approach.

“Queensborough is excited to expand our presence in the Midlands and bring more of what our bank does best to customers across Columbia and Lexington,” said Goetzman. “Scott, Ken, and Lauren add an exceptional level of experience to our team, and that matters for local businesses looking for bankers who understand their goals and can deliver competitive lending, responsive service, cash management, merchant services, and practical financial guidance. We are proud to pair their market knowledge with Queensborough’s broad capabilities and community-bank commitment.”

Hagler joins the bank as Columbia Market President, bringing decades of banking experience and a strong commitment to community service to his role at Queensborough. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1986, where he was a four-year letterman and team captain for the Gamecocks football team. He began his banking career in 1989 and has served in leadership roles across lending, deposit acquisition, marketing, budgeting, and team development. He is also a graduate of the South Carolina Banker’s School.

Active in the Columbia community, Hagler has served on the Board of the Ronald McDonald House and as a Trustee for South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities. He currently volunteers as a Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 737, where his two youngest sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Washburn joins Queensborough as Lexington County Executive, bringing more than 32 years of banking and financial industry experience. Most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending, Washburn will lead the bank’s development and expansion in the Lexington market, building strong relationships with local businesses, families, and community organizations while supporting Queensborough’s commitment to personalized financial services and expanded business banking solutions in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Washburn has lived in Lexington, South Carolina, for the past 32 years, where he and his wife, Julie, raised their two daughters. He coached club soccer for 16 years with the Lexington County Soccer Club and South Carolina United Futbol Club and was named the 2009 Coach of the Year by the South Carolina Youth Soccer Association. He has also served as a board member of The Unumb Center for Neurodevelopment of South Carolina and as President of the Lexington County Soccer Club. He remains an active member of the Lexington County Chamber & Visitors Center.

Steadman joins Queensborough as Loan Portfolio Manager and will be responsible for managing client relationships and supporting business growth across the Midlands market. With more than 15 years of banking experience, she brings a deep understanding of commercial lending operations and client relationship management to the role. Since beginning her banking career in 2009, Steadman has built a strong foundation in commercial loan processing and credit support, earning a reputation for operational excellence and exceptional client service.

Steadman resides in Columbia, South Carolina, with her husband and two children.
