What inspired you to start your own business?

Mr. Beatty worked as a welder and wanted to change careers.  He bought a 1963 Diamond T. truck and 1973 White after 5 years and started buying and selling sand and gravel

What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else?

He grew up working and at 86 he is still working.  Offer good service, fair prices, treat people right.  Never declines a customer when they call.

What is your background and how did you develop the skills to start your business?

Didn’t require skills.  He learned by actual on the job experiences.

What has been your biggest success to date?

Small jobs turn into big jobs.  Repeat business by treating people right.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Inflation has been the biggest challenge.

If you could go back to the beginning knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?

He would have bought new equipment instead of used.

What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start their own business?

Like what you do and have a plan/goal.
