Queensborough National Bank & Trust Company recently awarded $500 to Kevin Unruh, a 2022 graduate of Thomas Jefferson Academy in Louisville, for his essay on the importance of community banking. Kevin is the son of Tina and Mervin Unruh and plans to attend East Georgia State College in the fall.
The Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship is a statewide contest funded and presented by the Community Bankers Association of Georgia. As a sponsoring bank, Queensborough encourages local high school seniors to apply for the statewide competition, but also awards one local student annually with a $500 scholarship.
