What inspired you to start your own business? Terra Newsome and Taylor Padgett were inspired to open Southern Willow from their own love of creating beautiful spaces, hosting memorable gatherings, and bringing a little joy to each day.
 

What inspires your work and what sets you apart from everyone else?  Southern Willow is set apart because of the homey atmosphere and friendly faces that welcome each customer! Customers can grab a hot cup of coffee, and browse through many locally-sourced products.
 

What is your background and how did you develop the skills to start your business?  Terra‘s background is in business while Taylor’s is in weddings and floral. They combined both of their expertises and mixed in their love of beautiful home decor to create the concept of Southern Willow Market.
 

What has been your biggest success to date?  Their biggest success to date would definitely be their grand opening. They were overwhelmed by the response from their family, friends and the community! That support has continued throughout the past year. They have many things planned for the future and can’t wait to share with their supporters.
 

What has been your biggest challenge?  Their biggest challenge is the fact that they opened just a few months before having to shut down for a pandemic. Thankfully they used that time to grow their social media and delivered flowers each week straight to their customers’ doors.
 

Which small businesses are you inspired by?  Taylor and Terra are inspired by many of their friends’ small businesses. To name a few, Sweet and Sassy Apron, Bek Designs, Handy Mandy Crafts and so many more!!
 

If you could go back to the beginning knowing what you know now, what would you have done differently?  If Taylor and Terra could go back in time and do something differently, they wouldn’t! They firmly believe everything happens for a reason!
 

What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start their own business?  Their best advice to someone trying to start a small business would be to hustle every single day, don’t let what other say bring you down, stay strong, wake up early and make it happen!!
