Queensborough National Bank & Trust recently celebrated the grand re-opening of our Metter branch, now located at 205 South Lewis Street. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on July 24, 2025, welcomed members of the Candler County Chamber of Commerce, local officials, bank leadership, and community members. Guests enjoyed a drop-in reception following the ceremony, highlighting the excitement and resilience of the Metter community.

Led by Erica Allen, Market Manager and Business Banker, the full-service branch offers a comprehensive suite of services for both business and consumer banking needs—including mortgages and wealth management. The branch’s relocation follows a devastating downtown fire on October 5, 2024, which destroyed an entire city block of Metter’s historic business district. Four adjoining businesses—Aly's Restaurante, The Flower Basket, Sabor Michoacano, and Railey + Co.—were lost in the blaze. Although the Queensborough building was not completely destroyed, it sustained significant water and smoke damage, prompting the move to the new location.

“I’m excited to open our doors and show off our team’s hard work,” said Allen. “It’s been a long road for many of us after the hurricane and downtown fire, and it feels great to have a new home for our loyal Metter customers to bank.”

Despite the challenges, the Metter team—Universal Bankers Mindy Collins and Audra Lee, and Head Teller Isela Reyes—continued to serve customers without interruption. Just days after the fire, the team transitioned operations to the new space to ensure consistent service for the community.

The new branch offers convenient banking hours:

• Lobby Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday

• Drive-Thru: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday

• Interactive Teller Machine (ITM): 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday
